The Alexandria Area Arts Association hopes to attract art and entertainment lovers to their annual event, Art in the Park. The event features beautiful and unique art, quality hand-made crafts, great food and various entertainment acts in the City Park.
The park, located on Country Road 42 North in Downtown Alexandria, is transformed into an outdoor art gallery filled with various types of art created by artists from around the country. Each artist is pre-selected by a jury to have a booth at Art in the Park. The jury selects art from the following categories: apparel, ceramics/pottery, drawing, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, naturals, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles/fibers, wood, or recycled/found objects. The wide variety of vendors ensures there will be something for everyone.
The sculptors, painters, and photographers aren’t the only artists at the festival. Art in the Park also features live entertainment. Artists that are entertaining at the event must also be selected to perform by the AAAA jury, and their performances are distributed throughout the venue.
At the end of the weekend, awards are presented to the top three artists at Art in the Park. Visit Alexandria for an afternoon of art and entertainment brought to you by talented and passionate artists. Art in the Park runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and July 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday June 29.
