Do you have questions about your lake or lakeshore property? Have you been searching for the right person to answer your questions? The Douglas Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and Douglas County Lakes Association (DCLA) are sponsoring an event for anyone wanting to know more about our lakes, water quality, natural resource management, and zoning. The Day of the Lakes event will be on Saturday, April 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Public Works Building. Representatives from the DNR, SWCD, Minnesota Waters, Sauk River Watershed District, Land and Resource Management, and RMB Environmental Laboratory will be on hand to visit with you about any of your concerns.
The Lake Detective (aka Steve McComas) will speak at 1:00 p.m. about the mysteries and monsters in your lake. In the land of 10,000 lakes, a few strange and unexplained lake mysteries have been reported. He has solved many of them. Lake monsters have been found in other lakes, including some in Douglas County. The Lake Detective has handled those as well. “I will give tips on how to solve lake mysteries and how to battle lake monsters,” says McComas. Make sure to bring along your own lake questions and we should be able to come up with solutions to any mystery or lake monster out there. Call 320-763-3191 ext 3 with questions.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..
